Villers Abbey

In Walloon Brabant, Villers Abbey offers several historic spaces for weddings, private receptions and business events. Rentals are split between the abbey’s former mill and several semi-covered or outdoor areas within the heritage site.

Five reception spaces

The official offer includes the Banquet Room, Romanesque Room, Victor Hugo Room, Meeting Room and Lay Brothers’ Building. The Banquet and Romanesque rooms are in the former mill. The Lay Brothers’ Building stands inside the abbey beside the cloister and abbey church.

Capacity and features

The Lay Brothers’ Building provides 190 m² in a semi-covered, unheated space. Its stated capacity is 150 for a cocktail reception and 100 for a seated meal. Guests use the site’s public toilets; tables, chairs and benches are not included. This area is available only on weekdays during opening hours, and the abbey remains open to visitors. For the other rooms, request a confirmed layout based on guest numbers, furniture, dance floor and safety rules.

2026 hire rates

Official 2026 rates are per day and exclude VAT: €1,180 for the Banquet Room, €980 for the Romanesque Room, €950 for the Lay Brothers’ Room, €280 for the Victor Hugo Room and €280 for the Meeting Room. The last two are offered only on weekdays. Site admission, activities, equipment and additional services may have separate terms or charges; the quotation and occupancy rules prevail.

Catering and organisation

Outside catering is not freely selectable. The Abbey works with a list of approved caterers familiar with the venue. The booking is confirmed after payment of a deposit, and invoicing is handled through the selected caterer. Dancing is possible with timing agreed with the caterer and respect for the neighbours. A specific request may be made to use an area in the ruins, without guaranteed approval.

Access

The Abbey is about 30 km south of Brussels. The official address is Rue de l’Abbaye 55, B-1495 Villers-la-Ville, Belgium. The official GPS point is 50.590021, 4.530058. Free car parking and covered bicycle parking are available. Villers-la-Ville station is about 2 km away, and TEC bus 51 serves the area. The site is partially accessible to guests with reduced mobility; confirm the route to the chosen room.
