A wedding at Château de Hallwyl in Aargau
In Seengen, near Lake Hallwil, Château de Hallwyl welcomes weddings in a historic complex surrounded by water. This Museum Aargau site offers spaces for a civil ceremony, an aperitif reception or a banquet. You can plan your reception around the castle barn and part of the courtyard.
The Schlossscheune and its courtyard
The Schlossscheune covers 135 m² and accommodates up to 75 seated or 135 standing guests, depending on the layout. It can be hired alone or with an outdoor area in the courtyard. Hire is available from April to October, Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 am to 11 pm. A paid extension is possible until 2 am, including clearing up.
Organising the ceremony and meal
Civil weddings are booked through the Lenzburg civil registry office, which coordinates the date with the castle. For meals, the venue works exclusively with its partner caterers: food brought by organisers is not permitted. The spaces also host business meetings, seminars and cultural events.
Planning your reception in Seengen
The barn has Wi-Fi and stairlift access for wheelchair users. Paid public parking is available nearby; buses serve the Seengen, Schloss Hallwyl stop. There is no accommodation on site. Specify your guest count, spaces and timings to receive a complete proposal.
