A wedding estate in Quessoy

Château de Bogard hosts weddings in Côtes-d’Armor, south of Saint-Brieuc. The historic 18th-century residence, with its older tower, overlooks a 40-hectare park. Receptions are centred on the Orangerie and courtyard, while lawns and gardens provide settings for a drinks reception, symbolic ceremony and couple photographs. Reception hire is separate from heritage tours and cultural events at the estate.

Two rooms and indoor backup

Two Orangerie rooms: an 85 m² drinks-reception room, up to 70 seated or 170 standing according to the detailed venue information consulted; a 210 m² dining room, up to 170 seated diners according to the current official website. An adjoining dance area, catering preparation area with a large cold room, inner courtyard, cloakrooms and a lounge with piano/fireplace are listed. A 40-hectare park includes a pond, lawns, woodland and hornbeam walks. Capacities are not additive; any marquee extension requires an agreed layout and capacity.

A Thursday-to-Monday stay

Official wedding offer: access to the Orangerie rooms and cottage from Thursday at 6pm to Monday at 10am. The website advertises no sound-system cutoff time; safety rules and contract terms still apply. Another venue presentation mentions an April–October season: confirm off-season availability and heating. Corporate meetings are offered on Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Thursday; visitor opening hours are not wedding-hire hours.

Included accommodation and separate options

The official package includes Orangerie accommodation for 15 people. Separately charged options: an apartment sleeping 6 on the château’s second floor and a cottage sleeping 10 about 1 km away, available for one or more nights. The advertised total of 31 therefore includes an off-site cottage; it does not mean 31 beds are included in the package. A meadow is available for campers; motorhomes are mentioned in the car park, subject to confirmation of terms. Bed linen and towels are optional: bring your own or book the extra. The couple is offered access to a private suite for preparations; confirm overnight use and times in the contract.

Catering, drinks and organisation

Free choice of caterer and other suppliers. The catering preparation area and large cold room adjoin the dining room. Agree menus, allergies, diets, children’s meals, staff, tableware, table linen, cleaning and brunch with the suppliers; no meal or service is automatically included in venue hire. Discuss an outside cake and any surcharge in the caterer’s quotation. Bringing drinks is possible by agreement with the caterer; the château charges no corkage according to information consulted on 15 October 2026. Agree drinks supply, service, quantities and any caterer’s charges separately.

Children, gardens and preparations

A playroom in the central cottage is close to the reception: books, comics, board games and drawing materials are advertised, along with balls and a football goal in a nearby meadow. This does not establish a childcare service. Terraces and hornbeam walks offer several photographic backdrops. The pond, outdoor routes and play areas require appropriate supervision; review safety plans, the exact furniture and ceremony arrangements during a visit.

Exclusivity and boundaries

The official website advertises exclusive use of the hired areas: two rooms, accommodation for 15, Orangerie courtyard, front lawn, gardens and park. Obtain written confirmation of the boundaries and arrangements around scheduled tours or cultural events. Adjoining tents/marquees are possible subject to agreed conditions. A symbolic ceremony is not a legally binding civil ceremony; do not assume permission for a religious service.

Venue-hire budget and extras

The official website requests a flat-rate quotation for both rooms and the cottage with 15 beds. An indicative venue-hire price from €4,950 for rooms and accommodation for 15 was consulted on 15 October 2026: confirm the rate year, taxes, season and applicable duration; this is not a guaranteed official rate or a per-person meal price. Tables, chairs and an easel are included according to the official website. The apartment for 6, cottage for 10 and linen are optional extras. Obtain separate prices for catering, drinks, staff, marquee, cleaning, heating and other charges. No contractual minimum guest count is confirmed. The 1–170 range indicates capacity, not a price commitment for a single guest. Bed counts and room capacities are not added together to establish an overall event capacity.

Contract and payment

Reception hire has a separate contract: the shop terms explicitly exclude it. Wedding advance payment, damage deposit, payment dates, cancellation, insurance, cleaning, overtime and children’s charges are not precisely published; agree them in writing. Do not apply ticket cancellation terms to a reception. Cheque or bank transfer are listed in wedding information consulted on 15 October 2026; confirm them in the quotation. Card payments offered for tours and shop items are not presumed to apply to reception hire.

Other events and equipment

Corporate clients can use rooms and gardens for meetings, seminars, training and team building. Internet access, projector, screens, whiteboards and flipchart are advertised for meetings; lunch and refreshments can be arranged. Corporate hire on weekdays, Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Thursday, by arrangement. No verified corporate price is published. This equipment and these services are not automatically included in the wedding package; request an itemised quotation.

Access and contact

Château de Bogard, 22120 Quessoy, Côtes-d’Armor. The map marks the identified château, not central Quessoy. Free on-site parking. From the N12, take the Yffiniac exit, then the D765 towards Quessoy and follow estate signs. Reception rooms are advertised as wheelchair accessible; check park routes, toilets and accommodation.
