Château de Lucens offers exclusive hire for weddings at Chemin du Pont-Levis 5, 1522 Lucens, in the canton of Vaud. Its fortified complex combines Gothic and Bernese residential buildings, courtyards, gardens and indoor rooms. A civil or symbolic ceremony, drinks reception, dinner and evening celebration can be organised on the estate. Meetings, training, conferences, launches, family celebrations and team activities are also offered. A visit and quotation establish the booked areas and actual period of exclusive use.

Room areas and capacities

The official room pages list the Salle de Justice at 184 m² for 20–200 people depending on layout; the Salle des Dépendances at 65 m² for 35; the Sherlock Holmes room at 154 m² for 120; and the dining room at 78 m² for 20–60. Theatre, classroom, banquet, U-shaped, rectangular conference and cocktail arrangements are presented for the relevant rooms. These maxima do not all apply to a meal with a dance floor. The general presentation mentions approximately 160 people and 500 m² of indoor/outdoor areas: request a plan specific to your wedding, without adding capacities or treating ceremony attendance as dining capacity.

Ceremonies, courtyard and gardens

The Salle de Justice is also recognised for civil weddings: the Vaud registry publishes a capacity of up to 180 people for this ceremony. The chapel advertises 120 guests and an organ; booking conditions and religious ceremony arrangements require separate agreement. The inner courtyard covers 300 m² with a published capacity of 200, subject to confirming the layout. Gardens provide an outdoor setting. A swimming pool shown in the illustrations does not establish permission to swim, install a tent or access every area: specify authorised zones, child safety and the wet-weather alternative.

Catering, equipment and planning

The brochure presents coffee breaks, substantial cocktail receptions and gourmet lunches and dinners supplied with caterers. It mentions a stage, sound equipment, Wi-Fi, projection and television for events. Furniture, tableware, staffing, electrical connections and inclusions should be itemised in the quotation. Free choice of caterer, kitchen access, bringing drinks and any corkage arrangement are not guaranteed. Obtain written confirmation, together with children’s menus, vegetarian options or allergy adaptations. The consulted documents do not publish a wedding meal price or guarantee allergen-free preparation.

Twenty-nine rooms across two buildings

The current official offer advertises 29 rooms: 21 at La Ferme du Château hotel below the estate, and eight in the dependencies, comprising seven double rooms and one single. The latter distribution represents 15 theoretical places in the dependencies alone; it does not establish the estate’s total sleeping capacity. Older presentations mention 31 rooms: the current official distribution is retained. A wedding booking does not establish that every room is included. Confirm buildings, distances, availability, extra beds, accessible rooms and separate charges.

La Ferme du Château facilities

The hotel offers non-smoking Standard rooms, Superior rooms and Junior Suites with free Wi-Fi, television, radio through the television, hairdryer and safe. Standard rooms have a large bed and shower room; south-facing Superior rooms offer twin beds or a large bed subject to availability, a shower and a Nespresso machine. Junior Suites have a large bed, a bathroom with bath or shower and a Nespresso machine. A regional-product breakfast is included and served in the vaulted room. The hotel has no dinner restaurant and recommends nearby restaurants. A self-service bar is advertised around the clock; no price is published here.

Prices: wedding quotation and separate gourmet stay

Wedding hire requires a quotation: no current minimum hire price, per-cover rate or priced wedding package has been confirmed. The hotel publishes a different offer for two people combining a room, breakfast and the Menu Escapade Gourmande at Hôtel de la Gare: Standard CHF560, Superior CHF620 and Junior Suite CHF660. Drinks are excluded. These are stay prices for two, never château hire or a per-person menu price; reconfirm duration, taxes and validity because the page does not specify a year. The offer is advertised from Wednesday through Saturday inclusive, subject to restaurant availability.

Times and booking conditions

Hotel check-in is advertised at 15:00 and check-out at 11:00. The gourmet offer allows free cancellation until 24 hours before arrival; drinks and meal extras are paid on site. These stay terms do not apply automatically to a wedding contract. For the reception, specify setup, supplier access, music times, dismantling, cleaning, extensions, advance payment, security deposit, cancellation, insurance and payment methods. No evening end time, fireworks permission or deposit amount is inferred from photographs.

Access, parking and accessibility

The chapel has a garden with approximately 50 parking spaces and the château advertises 40. These refer to two areas, rather than a guaranteed combined total of 90 spaces available simultaneously. The hotel also advertises free private outdoor parking without reservation for its guests. Lucens railway station serves the town; plan the final journey taking account of the uphill approach. La Ferme du Château advertises wheelchair access and an adapted lift, and welcomes pets with bowls. These hotel services do not establish accessibility throughout the historic reception rooms or permission for animals at the ceremony. Request routes, toilets and venue rules for each booked space.
