Chomel-Coinon Municipal Arena

Chomel-Coinon Municipal Arena is located on Avenue Folco de Baroncelli in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Its central ring and spectator stands provide an open-air setting for traditional Camargue events. It hosts events organised by associations and bull-related performances included in the municipality’s official programme.

The 2026 season includes Camargue races, young-bull events and traditional games. Local bull-related associations, including Lou Glanum, organise activities at the arena. The municipal calendar still lists events in October and November 2026, confirming that the venue remains active.

The site is relevant to outdoor performances and activities connected with local traditions. Any project should be discussed with the municipality and the relevant organiser to establish the schedule, permitted audience capacity and practical arrangements. The €5 and €10 amounts published for some events are performance admission prices, rather than venue-hire rates. Conditions for another use of the site require confirmation from the city.

Lou Glanum is a local association involved in teaching and promoting the Camargue race. Its activities are intended particularly for teenagers and adults. The arena’s summer 2026 programme included Course de l’Avenir events and the Trophée Glanum, featuring several herds and participants. The venue’s interest therefore lies in active local and community use, and in experiencing traditional Camargue activities in their established performance setting.

Access for a group should be discussed carefully with the organiser. The collaborative Acceslibre record, completed in 2022, lists a ground-level entrance, adapted parking within the site and designated positions for watching races. It also records a gently sloping outdoor route and a surface considered unsuitable for wheelchair use. These older details need to be checked before a visit. They should not be reduced to a general promise that every part of the arena is fully accessible.
