Villa Catignano

A historic wedding villa in the Siena countryside

Villa Catignano is in Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the countryside north-east of Siena. Its seventeenth-century villa, Italian garden and farmhouse buildings form a setting for a Tuscan wedding with guests travelling from Italy or abroad. Frescoed interiors, courtyards and views across the hills offer different backdrops for the celebration and for a stay together.

Reception rooms and outdoor spaces

The restored Tinaia Hall, with vaulted ceilings and terracotta flooring, accommodates up to 120 people for a seated dinner. The official website lists the Grey Hall for 80 seated guests or 120 people at a cocktail reception. The villa’s reception rooms are also available on request. Each space serves a different purpose: the overall guest count and layout should be confirmed with the property, without automatically adding room capacities together.

The rooms lead to the terrace, the villa and farmhouse courtyards, and the Italian garden. These areas allow the welcome drinks and other parts of the day to take place in different surroundings. The indoor rooms provide alternatives when the weather requires a change to the outdoor programme.

Ceremonies and wedding arrangements

The garden with its Four Seasons statues is offered for symbolic ceremonies and blessings. The private chapel can accommodate Anglican or Protestant celebrations, subject to arrangements with the property and officiant. The team can help with planning and recommend a wedding planner or professionals for catering, flowers, music, photography, transport and wedding preparations.

Food and drink are arranged with the event’s chosen professionals. The official website describes catering recommendations and personalised menus, while the Wedinspire listing confirms that external catering is permitted. Specific inclusions, equipment and coordination services should be set out in the requested proposal.

Accommodation, pool and exclusive stays

The estate combines villa and farmhouse apartments; the villa itself has seven apartments with equipped kitchens. The swimming pool is reserved for guests during the property’s stated opening season. Exclusive use can be requested for a stay with family and friends. Wedinspire lists accommodation for up to 86 people: availability, the allocation of apartments and the required number of nights should be confirmed in the quotation.
