An intimate wedding in the Perche Goët

In Dangeau, Eure-et-Loir, Château de Bouthonvilliers offers exclusive estate hire for intimate weddings. Its current event offer advertises up to 40 guests. This setting combines a small wedding reception with on-site accommodation; the chapel’s ceremony capacity must not be mistaken for the overall wedding capacity.

Reception and ceremony spaces

The restored 19th-century greenhouse in the French-style garden is offered for wedding dinners, sheltered from rain. The château also has characterful rooms, including a large drawing room, library and study. The official pages checked do not publish detailed room areas or capacities: agree the dinner layout, dancing and wet-weather arrangements with the team rather than adding room capacities together.

The consecrated chapel occupies a 16th-century dovecote converted in the 19th century; the estate advertises room for approximately 50 people for a religious ceremony. Tables, chairs and tablecloths are supplied for the event. Sound, lighting and the arrangements for a DJ or photographer need to be specified.

Grounds and surroundings

The estate has 20 hectares of English-style grounds, a French-style garden, a one-hectare vegetable garden, a swimming pool and a pond. More than 100 hectares of woodland surround it; this is not additional reception-room floor space. Older wings flank an 18th-century central building. The façades and roofs have heritage protection. The dated gallery photograph shows the rear façade and grounds in April 2017, not a guarantee of today’s furnishings or layouts.

Three accommodation options sleeping 35

The main château sleeps a maximum of 15 people despite having 11 bedrooms, and has six bathrooms. The former artist’s workshop known as the Communs cottage has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, an equipped kitchen and a living room with a fireplace, sleeping 12. The Loft has a double bedroom, a bathroom and a 70 m² room with a kitchen and living area convertible into a six-bed dormitory, sleeping eight in total, with a terrace. Together these provide 35 beds, not 35 bedrooms. They may be hired together or separately; confirm the exclusive-use boundary and accommodation included in your wedding quotation.

Catering and 2026 menus

The estate’s chef and team offer pre-ordered breakfasts, brunches, buffets and served dinners using regional produce. The 2026 menu lists Terroir at €39, Gourmand at €45, Prestige at €50 and Des Rois at €65 per person: one starter, main and dessert, with the same dishes for everyone. Fish, meat and pastry options are offered; agree your selection and availability with the team.

Service is separate: €50 including VAT per hour per server, with one server per ten guests recommended. The daily menu for children under ten is €17.50; cheese is an additional €5, hot drinks €2, and certain foie gras choices an additional €2. Birthday and wedding cakes cost €8 per person, minimum ten people. Five-, eight- and ten-piece cocktails cost €17.50, €28 and €35 per person respectively. Breakfast is €12, brunch €18 and refreshments €10 per person. The menu may change at any time; confirm dietary needs, allergens and meal tax treatment.

Drinks

A self-service cellar sells wine, champagne and local beer during your stay. The 2026 menu lists wines at €14–35 per bottle, with the stock list available on request. Drinks are not thereby included in accommodation or meals. Outside drinks and corkage terms are not specified.

Hire: wedding quotations and historical benchmarks

Weddings are individually quoted. Old accommodation prices must not be presented as current wedding-package prices. The stays page retains an indicative 2024 tariff, expressly excluding events and subject to change: château €7,000–9,500 including tax for seven nights or €2,500–3,500 including tax for two nights; Communs cottage €1,500–3,000 including tax per week or €800–1,500 including tax per weekend; Loft €1,000–2,000 per week or €500–1,000 for two nights, with no tax treatment specified for the Loft. This tariff requires weekly hire in July and August.

The same 2024 tariff lists final cleaning separately: château €350, cottage €200, Loft €150; household linen €10 per person; heating charged by consumption; fireplace wood supplied. These historical figures need updating and are not guaranteed contractual 2026 extras. Booking deposits, security deposits, payment schedules, cancellation and postponement terms are not published on the pages checked.

Activities and precautions

The 2025 activities booklet advertises a heated pool from 15 April to 15 October, weather permitting, outdoor games, some bicycles and walking routes. Keep the pool gate closed and supervise children near water; swimming in the pond is prohibited. Tennis in Dangeau, four kilometres away, is available with a key on request. Horse riding, cooking, wine tasting, massages, yoga and other activities depend on availability and may require a quotation. The 2025 booklet lists horses/ponies at €15 per half-hour or €25 per hour: reconfirm these old prices; they are not automatically included in a wedding.

Access and planning

Address: Château de Bouthonvilliers, lieu-dit Bouthonvilliers, 28160 Dangeau, France. The estate places Brou and Bonneval stations nine kilometres away, Chartres 34 kilometres away, Orly approximately 1 hour 20 minutes away and Roissy 1 hour 45 minutes away; check routes and traffic for your journey. Local taxis require advance booking. Parking-space numbers and detailed step-free access are not published: request an appropriate route for your guests’ needs. Include setup, departure, music, decoration and safety rules in the contract.
