In Gruchet-le-Valasse, between Le Havre and Rouen, Abbaye du Valasse hosts weddings throughout the year. The estate combines twelfth-century Cistercian architecture, eighteenth-century salons and a sixty-hectare park. The historic rooms and the Grande Halle suit different projects: choose according to guest numbers and your programme, without adding the capacities of alternative spaces.

Convers room, salons and Gallery

The official seated capacity of the Salle des Convers is 230. The wedding brochure currently linked from the website gives standing capacities of 60 for Salon Boutren, 80 for Espace Fauquet and 100 for the Gallery, recommended from April to October. Higher figures on some specialist profiles do not replace these official limits. For a large wedding, the Grande Halle provides 2,000 m²; directory limits of 1,500 seated and 2,000 standing require an approved safety plan and layout.

Tax-inclusive prices and furniture

The official brochure reviewed lists the Convers room at €2,990 including tax for a low-season day and €3,880 in high season; weekend prices are €4,400 and €5,290 respectively. The weekend package including Convers, salons and Gallery is €5,120 in low season and €5,820 in high season. Boutren is €300, while Fauquet and the Gallery are €350 each; the Gallery is complimentary when both salons are hired. The year and exact season dates are not specified, so obtain an updated quotation. Round or rectangular tables and white Napoleon chairs are included; tableware, tablecloths and napkins are excluded or charged extra.

Ceremony, catering and suppliers

A symbolic ceremony can take place indoors or outside, subject to an approved location. The park is open to visitors: events require prior permission, and a booking does not automatically provide exclusive use of the whole estate. The XXL page advertises free choice of caterer, while specialist profiles describe selected partners. Agree the policy for your chosen room in the contract, including service areas, deliveries, cake, drinks and corkage. Discuss dietary needs and allergens with the caterer. A legal civil ceremony is not guaranteed.

Hours, travel and accommodation

The brochure gives Saturday hours of noon to 5.30 am and Sunday hours of noon to 5.30 pm; Friday setup is agreed eight days beforehand. Overtime is charged. Wedding-day coordination is optional. The official parking capacity is 200 spaces. The address is Route de l’Abbaye, 76210 Gruchet-le-Valasse, near the A13 and A29; transfers are needed from Bréauté-Beuzeville or Yvetot stations.
