A historic event venue near Aix-en-Provence
In Puyricard, north of Aix-en-Provence, Château d’Alphéran hosts weddings, private celebrations and business events within an estate of more than thirty hectares. Set below the Trévaresse hills, the property combines a historic residence, gardens, an orangery and views towards Montagne Sainte-Victoire. Its history is associated with the Forbin and Alphéran families: Claude Alphéran de Bussan acquired the Sainte-Croix country house in 1724.
Spaces for each part of your celebration
Wedding capacity is up to 120 guests. The courtyard provides an outdoor dining setting, while the pool area can accommodate drinks receptions, ceremonies and next-day brunches during high season. The orangery is a former winter garden with patterned cement tiles, a water feature and climbing plants; it provides space for dancing or an indoor alternative in poor weather. The Mathilde Monléon room adds another interior space.
Planning, facilities and catering
Business bookings can cover a half-day, full day, cocktail reception or evening. The venue also welcomes product presentations, exhibitions, gala events and filming. An equipped kitchen is reserved for professional caterers. The vehicle parking area covers almost two hectares and includes a turning area for heavy vehicles, helping suppliers manage deliveries and event setup.
Wedding hire includes the reception spaces, a butler, outdoor lighting and parking; a lifeguard is provided during high season. A professional caterer must be present, with food arranged separately. Guests may bring their own drinks without corkage. The venue recommends partners for music, photography, flowers, event coordination and equipment hire.
Prices and booking options
Published indicative wedding hire ranges from €6,600 to €9,600. The final price depends on the date and package; catering and furniture are additional. High season runs from May to September. A two-day arrangement can include a next-day brunch, with weekday and low-season celebrations also available. An optional welcome dinner on the preceding evening can host up to 60 guests. Event times and optional services are confirmed in the quotation.
Getting here and staying nearby
A qualified nanny is mandatory on the reception day. Times vary by package: on Wednesdays, suppliers may arrive from 10 a.m. and receptions run from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.; the two-day high-season arrangement runs from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m., followed by brunch from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Low-season Friday and Saturday receptions run from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. One additional hour may be quoted as an option.
The entrance is at 675 chemin du Château d’Alphéran in Puyricard. For overnight accommodation, the château lists nearby hotels, guesthouses and apartment hotels, including a partner approximately 400 metres away. An advance visit helps establish the room layout and practical arrangements for catering, guest movement and group transport.
