A wedding at a vineyard château in Namur province

In Bioul, in the municipality of Anhée, Château de Bioul welcomes weddings on a family estate in Wallonia. Vines, a century-old park, courtyard and historic buildings provide settings for an outdoor ceremony, drinks reception and celebration. About twenty minutes from Namur, the estate offers personalised support, regional caterers and the option of a wedding planner.

Spaces and capacities to adapt to your wedding

The Chapitres rooms occupy three levels opening onto the courtyard. The Chai and its terrace overlook the vines. The Serre, château lounges and dining room, Salon Blanc, terrace, courtyard and Italian galleries offer further spaces. The Potager, a converted former tennis court, has tables and a large tent for outdoor meals.

The official 2026 events brochure gives the following figures; layouts and availability must be confirmed for your reception:

• Salle des Chapitres: 160 seated / 320 standing; for a reception, wedding or conference.
• Chai: 70–80 seated / 100–150 standing; depending on the layout.
• Salle à manger / salon: 40–50 seated / approximately 50 standing.
• Salon Blanc: up to 20 seated.
• Serre: 30 seated / 50 standing.
• Galeries italiennes: approximately 40 seated; standing: depending on the layout.
• Cour intérieure: 200–300 standing; for a reception or walking dinner.

Do not add these capacities together or interpret them as a guaranteed seated or standing capacity for the entire estate. Request an approved layout distinguishing dinner, drinks reception, ceremony, dancing, circulation and a wet-weather alternative.

Services, wine and catering

The château supports the project from preparation to delivery. A ceremony in the park can be followed by drinks and a meal in the booked spaces. Tailor-made lunches, drinks receptions and dinners are offered with regional professionals. Private tours, tastings and wine experiences can enhance the stay. The shop sells wines, gift boxes and vouchers; their use in the wedding must be arranged separately.

Caterer selection or freedom of choice, drinks, corkage, a coordinator's presence, furniture and technical equipment must be specified in the contract: none is automatically assumed included in the venue hire.

Eleven en-suite bedrooms

The official 2026 brochure presents eleven en-suite bedrooms for extending an event at the château. The wedding page confirms accommodation is available. Sleeping capacity, bed arrangements, bookable rooms, possible exclusivity and times must be established in the quotation; eleven rooms do not automatically mean twenty-two guests.

Prices, booking and access

No venue-hire price or wedding package was found in the official pages and brochure consulted on 11 October 2026. Offers are personalised. Ask for separate details of rooms, duration, exclusivity, setup and dismantling, furniture, catering, wine and drinks, staff, coordination, security, cleaning, accommodation, a backup plan, deposit and cancellation. Tourist opening from April to October does not restrict wedding dates: event proposals are considered year-round by appointment.

A private car park with 80 spaces is indicated about 150 metres away. The park includes gravel and uneven ground, and the Made in Bioul visitor route starts with stairs. Accessibility of rooms, toilets, bedrooms and the ceremony route must therefore be checked against guests' needs.
