Exclusive château hire for a wedding near Ciney

Château de Halloy offers exclusive hire of its estate for weddings, business meetings and private stays. It is at Route du Château de Halloy 37 B, Braibant, in the municipality of Ciney, Namur province. The limestone building, pediment and two wings frame an inner courtyard; at the rear, the park extends towards the Bocq. The wedding offer combines reception spaces and on-site accommodation, with a weekend stay to arrange directly with the château.

Spaces and capacities for dinner and dancing

For a wedding meal, the ground-floor grand drawing room and hall accommodate up to 100 people together. The large upstairs room can seat up to 150 guests for dinner. These are alternative layouts; their capacities are not added together. Dancing takes place in the ground-floor hall, while the buffet and bar can be set up in the dining room. The terrace overlooks the park and its mature trees. Agree guest numbers, furniture, access and wet-weather arrangements in the quotation.

Drawing rooms, kitchen and meeting layouts

The grand drawing room measures 65 m² and is described with parquet flooring, an open fireplace, a 50-inch television, cable TV and audio equipment. The business table lists 70 dinner seats, 80 theatre seats, 40 classroom seats and 20 in a U-shape. The hall covers 70 m². Official pages give the dining room as 28–30 m², with 28 or 36 seats depending on the presentation: request the layout intended for your meal. The approximately 30 m² kitchen has an AGA cooker, hotplates, ovens, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer and food-preparation equipment. The approximately 50 m² hunting room offers an open fireplace, a bar area, billiards and games.

Meetings and technical equipment

The official seminar table lists the conference room at 150 m², for 150 people in theatre or dinner layout, 80 in classroom layout and 50 in a U-shape. The Omalius drawing room measures 23 m², with 20 theatre seats and 10 classroom or U-shape seats; the 30 m² South drawing room accommodates 30 theatre seats and 15 classroom or U-shape seats. Meeting spaces have natural light. A projector, Wi-Fi, flipcharts and sound equipment on request are documented for meetings. Confirm availability, setup and costs for a wedding; venue hire does not imply an included DJ or technician.

Park, barbecue and activities

The estate covers approximately ten hectares of parkland, woodland, river and pond. A covered barbecue space of around 60 m², enclosed by timber framing and glazing, provides a sheltered outdoor dining option subject to the agreed layout. The website advertises a sauna, an all-season tennis court, walks and pond kayaking. Fishing in the Bocq requires a permit. Agree equipment, use conditions and supervision of children with the team. The pond and river are not presented as supervised swimming pools; activity documents flag reservations about water quality.

Fourteen bedrooms and thirty-five advertised sleeping places

The current offer states 14 bedrooms and a total capacity of 35 people, with private bathrooms or showers. Rooms are distributed between the château, the Omalius wing and the Pond wing. The official 2018 list details rooms named Blanche, Jaune, Rose, Bleue, Est, Sud, Grise and Verte, measuring 12–50 m², with double or single beds; some toilets are then listed in corridors. The older list and plans consulted help with allocation, but confirm beds, bathrooms, children’s sleeping places and accessible rooms. The current 35-person capacity takes priority; nearby accommodation is not added to this total.

Catering, meals and services to arrange

The château offers a choice of caterers from a broad list it supplies. This does not mean unconditional freedom to bring any outside professional: request approval of your choice. Documents include buffets, reception cooking, barbecues and spit-roasting options, but do not set a wedding menu or meal price. Specify drinks, corkage, tableware, service, dietary needs and allergies, children’s meals and brunch. The caterer must return any kitchen used clean under the published conditions. Hairdressing, flowers, photography and tents appear among planning contacts; these services are not advertised as included.

Published venue-hire rates for 2025

The official table consulted on 14 October 2026 is explicitly dated 2025: its prices are historical and require an updated quotation for your dates. For a weekend, the entire estate and 14 bedrooms, for up to 120 people, it lists €2,747 from November to March; €3,764 in April; €4,217 from May to September; and €3,764 in October. The count is the highest number present at any point during the weekend, whether at the reception, dinner or evening party. Above 120 people, the advertised supplement is €2 per person. Use of the large room adds €238. These amounts are not guaranteed current rates and do not include a caterer’s meals.

Utilities, cleaning and financial conditions

The same 2025 table lists a provisional charge for water, electricity, heating and rubbish: €765 in low season, €500 in April, €255 from May to September and €500 in October. Reconciliation depends on actual consumption and energy costs; it is not an immutable flat charge. Cleaning is advertised at €450. The VAT treatment, advance payments, security deposit, payment schedule and cancellation are not specified in the wedding information consulted: have them included in the contract. Bedrooms must be left tidy and kitchens cleaned. Temporary promotions and last-minute offers require confirmation of dates, availability and applicability to a wedding.

Arrival, departure, accessibility and planning

The published offer starts at 16:00 on Friday; if a seminar occupies the central building that day, access to it may be delayed until 19:00, while the left wing remains accessible at 16:00. Earlier arrival or extra days are possible by availability and agreement. Departure is scheduled for 18:00 on Sunday. One-day wedding hire is no longer offered in the current table. A lift serves the central building from the entrance courtyard to the second floor: check routes, toilets and a suitable bedroom for your guests. Parking is available nearby; the plans identify parking in front of the courtyard. Access documents mention the E411, exit 19 Spontin or exit 20 Ciney, and Ciney station; their older train times and fares are not current travel information.

How are reviews verified?
  1. An account with a verified email address

The author posts from their wedding account using a confirmed email address. Their email address and contact details are never displayed in the review.

  2. A collaboration confirmed before the event

The client and the professional must have confirmed their collaboration on VENUIVO before the event date. Simply adding a favourite or requesting a quote is not enough.

  3. A review after the event

A review can only be published after the scheduled date for a confirmed collaboration that has not been cancelled. Only one review may be published per collaboration.

  4. The same rules for all reviews

Positive and negative reviews are assessed using the same criteria. Abusive or promotional content and content containing private contact details are rejected. Reviews can be reported, and the professional can respond.

These checks make reviews more reliable. They confirm the collaboration process on VENUIVO; the assessment remains the author’s own.
