A family château for your wedding in Essonne

Château de Janvry is a historic family home whose present architecture dates to around 1650. In the Hurepoix countryside near the Chevreuse valley, approximately 35 minutes south-west of Paris, this Louis XIII-style house welcomes weddings, private receptions and business gatherings. It has belonged to the same family since the late eighteenth century, retaining an authentic heritage-house atmosphere.

Ceremonies and reception spaces

Different areas of the estate can host the successive stages of a wedding: a symbolic ceremony in the park, drinks outdoors, dinner under a bamboo reception tent and dancing in the château spaces. The official brochure mentions the main courtyard, a former theatre, an old kitchen and a privately available enclosed park of approximately 14 hectares for certain wedding options. The area offered for private hire should not be confused with the entire, larger family estate.

Organising your day

A suite of adjoining historic salons can also suit smaller gatherings. The event layout and availability of outdoor installations vary according to the booking. Ask for a current reception plan, the authorised number of guests in each area and an indoor alternative if it rains. Catering logistics, guest circulation, equipment and parking should be clarified during a visit.

Weddings are quoted individually, and not every service illustrated in a brochure is necessarily included. Confirm exclusive-use conditions, whether the bamboo tent is provided, installation and dismantling hours, accessible routes and any outside supplier fees. The estate is accessed from Rue du Marchais in the village of Janvry.
