Château de la Baume welcomes weddings, birthdays, baptisms and business events in Seyssins, within the Grenoble metropolitan area. This 17th-century Dauphiné residence overlooks Grenoble and opens onto a garden with mountain views. Its architecture, the painted tapestries in the main salon and its outdoor spaces combine the character of a historic home with the facilities of a reception venue.

Function rooms, garden and marquee

The function rooms accommodate up to 148 people, including children, according to the official FAQ. This limit applies to the indoor spaces; table arrangements should allow for service and any area required for dancing. A 150 m² marquee and a 50 m² covered terrace provide additional options for organising the day.

The official wedding presentation describes more than 2,000 m² of outdoor space for welcome drinks, a symbolic ceremony or a relaxed gathering. Tables, chairs, high cocktail tables and parasols are available. The parasols do not shade every guest, so the timing of a summer ceremony and a wet-weather alternative should be planned with the team.

On-site catering and planning support

The château has its own kitchens and a chef who prepares meals on site. External caterers are not accepted, and bringing food requires exceptional permission from the management. Menus, drinks and service should therefore be developed with the venue as part of a personalised proposal.

Planning starts with a discussion about the date and guest count, followed by a visit and the preparation of the wedding details. Once the quotation is accepted, the team coordinates services with its partners. Furniture and tableware are advertised on site; exact inclusions, timings and optional services should be detailed in the quotation.

Guest facilities and accommodation

Five bedrooms with bathrooms and toilets can accommodate some of the guests. They are on the second floor without a lift. Under the published conditions, rooms become available when the wedding couple arrives and cannot be accessed from Friday. Breakfast is served from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., and check-out is at 11 a.m. Two other hotels are listed around five minutes away by car.

The venue advertises wheelchair arrangements and adapted toilets in the reception areas. The lack of a lift to the bedrooms must, however, be taken into account when planning accommodation. A room is available for children, together with two high chairs; a babysitter is compulsory when more than ten children attend.

Access and practical conditions

The château is at 7 rue Joseph Moutin in Seyssins. It has 45 parking spaces, including one adapted space, and facilities for securing bicycles. Wi-Fi is advertised. Pets are not accepted. Fireworks and similar effects are prohibited unless expressly authorised by the management and covered by the required permissions.
