Château de Méridon

A neo-Renaissance château in Chevreuse, near Paris and Versailles, with gardens, reception rooms, an Orangerie and 12 suites and bedrooms. French- and English-speaking staff assist with ceremonies, receptions, dancing and next-day brunches.

Spaces and capacities

Ceremonies in the landscaped moat or gardens; cocktails on the forecourt and in the Médicis gardens; dinner in the Orangerie and dancing in the ballroom. Salon Cheminée offers a quiet retreat; Antichambre can host food stations or a photobooth. Kiosk and box gardens provide other settings.

Wedding packages and prices

EUR prices checked 11 October 2026; confirm dates, guest numbers and contract conditions. Inclusions belong only to the stated package. Day and two-day rates are starting prices.

Non-residential rental: an undated indicative 7 500 € for reception areas and 5 hectares of gardens. Accommodation, extra hours, coordination/production, catering, decoration and entertainment are separate; this is not a guaranteed current price.

Exclusive residential stays generally start at 8 000 € per night, depending on season and services; a separate offer.

Suppliers and catering

Recommended partners or outside suppliers. External caterers need a signed technical, safety and food-liability letter; a fee may apply. Dry hire covers gardens and lower-level reception rooms, excludes bedrooms; Orangerie may cost extra. Full hire and packages have separate inclusions.

Furniture for up to 160 guests; additional rental above that number.

Practical conditions

Indoor candles only on dinner tables in fully enclosed flame containers. No fires or lantaarns in protected woodland; never assume fireworks approval. Accommodation rules request outdoor quiet after 23:30; confirm wedding hours. Wi-Fi, free unguarded parking and coach access; transfers, childcare and entertainment depend on the booked offer.

Twelve rooms and suites

Published overall capacity: 35 overnight guests; confirm actual bed allocation despite the room-category figures. A partner 5 minutes away by car can host 40 more people, outside the estate.

Private marble bathrooms, king/queen beds, desk, blackout curtains and air purifier. Royal Suite: private balconies and bathtub overlooking the forest.

Accommodation conditions

Normally arrival 16h, departure before 11h; signed contract and full payment, deposit, 10% accommodation VAT and extra tourist tax. Written cancellation: full refund more than 21 days before arrival; 100% charge less than 21 days. Accommodation conditions do not replace the wedding contract.

Breakfast outside a package: 35 € per night per person aged 12 or over. Children up to age 2 stay and breakfast free in existing bedding; ages 3–12: child supplement to confirm. Private chef: book at least 7 days ahead. Non-smoking interiors; confirm availability and accessibility.

Dogs under 8 kg: conditions apply, maximum one per room, 55 € per day. Assistance dogs admitted.

The 12 rooms/suites on two floors were renovated in 2023. Booking at least 2 rooms counts as a group: contact the château directly for specific conditions. Stay rates include 10% VAT; full 100% payment at booking. Breakfast outside a package: €35/person per night, adult rate from age 12; clarify the case of 12-year-olds, also covered by the published child band of ages 3–12.

The château has no restaurant open to the public. Private chef with at least 7 days’ notice, meals and half-board by agreement. Room service at certain hours on request/availability, excluding « l’essence » stays. Free Wi-Fi in rooms and common spaces; free unguarded parking, no parking on lawns or immediately beside the château. Concierge, wake-up, coffee/tea, shoe polishing and doctor on call are advertised as included or on request; confirm terms. Dry cleaning, hairdressing, shuttles/transport, childcare, shopping and secretarial/printing services are available at the client’s expense.

Stay terms: written changes depend on availability; reducing the stay follows cancellation conditions. No-show: 100% of the stay; early departure without an emergency: 100% of remaining nights. Tourist tax is not charged for unused nights; cancellation exceptions may apply on public holidays or special events. Cancellation/postponement by the property due to force majeure: full refund or credit offered for 12 months, 24 months for foreign residents. Damage: furniture replacement on documented evidence, minimum €7,000 advance for building damage, exceptional cleaning from €500 including tax. Cancellation/liability insurance recommended. Fireworks are also prohibited in the protected wood; children must be supervised near the natural pond. Written complaint within 15 business days after departure; French terms prevail in translation disputes.

Stays: 10% VAT is included; only tourist tax is additional. The arrival security deposit, by uncashed cheque or bank transfer, is returned or destroyed within 2 business days after departure, less damage or extra charges. Early arrival and late departure depend on availability, with a supplement payable at least 48 hours before arrival; late departure is no later than 18:00. Breaching the smoking ban incurs at least €500 including tax for cleaning. These accommodation conditions do not replace the wedding contract.
