Weddings and receptions at Château de Rigny

In Rigny, Haute-Saône, Château de Rigny is a hotel and restaurant hosting weddings, birthdays, family meals, drinks receptions, gala dinners, seminars, conferences and product presentations. The property stands beside the Saône within a five-hectare English-style park between Dijon and Besançon, approximately four kilometres from Gray according to the official website. Its rooms retain wood panelling, fireplaces, traditional ceilings and period furniture. The venue advertises five large private rooms and lounges on the ground floor with natural daylight. Its detailed brochure gives capacities for four spaces; not every room visible in the gallery has a published limit.

The Louis XVI dining room, Salle Chinoise, winter garden, lounges and shaded terrace offer options for different stages of a stay or reception. Private use, the sequence of rooms and complete exclusivity of the property require agreement in the contract. The terrace overlooks the park and river; its capacity and arrangements for a symbolic ceremony are not officially quantified. Agree the drinks-reception space, ceremony installation and a practical wet-weather alternative with the team.

Rooms: capacities by layout

The official room grid, checked on 12 October 2026, separates boardroom, U-shape, classroom, theatre, cocktail and banquet layouts. Salle des Gardes: 100 for theatre, 250 for cocktails and 170 for a banquet; boardroom, U-shape and classroom numbers are not published. Le Caveau: 25 for boardroom, 25 U-shape, 25 classroom, 50 theatre, 50 cocktails and 50 banquet. Salle Chinoise: 20 boardroom, 24 U-shape, 25 classroom, 45 theatre, 45 cocktails and 40 banquet. Salle des Horloges: 30 boardroom, 30 U-shape, 45 classroom, 60 theatre and 55 cocktails; no banquet number is published. Individual floor areas in square metres are not provided in this brochure. These capacities are not added together and do not guarantee the same number after installing a dance floor or additional equipment.

Commercial descriptions also advertise 280 guests, 250 seated in the Gardes, 300 square metres overall or 45 boardroom places in the Horloges. These differ from the official grid and are not used as verified capacity figures. Base your quotation on the actual layout of each room and obtain approval for the table plan. A cocktail capacity of 250 does not mean 250 seated dining covers.

Catering, menus and drinks

The restaurant uses fresh seasonal ingredients, with some fruit, vegetables and herbs grown in its kitchen garden and orchard. It emphasises French and regional cooking alongside French wines, notably from Burgundy and the Jura, and advertises the Maître Restaurateur title. Restaurant tables require advance booking. The venue’s catering service is described as mandatory for weddings; an outside supplier or kitchen access must be expressly agreed. Commercial descriptions mention vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, diabetic, halal and organic adaptations: these do not guarantee certification or freedom from allergen cross-contamination. Confirm every requirement and its price.

The official documents labelled April 2026 offer the Jean de Rigny menu at €49 and Longueval de Rigny at €75. The former combines an appetiser, a choice of starter and main course, then cheese or dessert; the latter adds cheese, a pre-dessert and dessert, with a €20 lobster supplement. The April 2026 à-la-carte document lists starters at €18–24, fish and shellfish at €25–52, meat at €25–42, cheese from €11 and desserts at €11–14. Options include foie gras with Macvin, fish, lamb, guinea fowl, quail, Charolais beef with morels and fruit or regional desserts. These are the restaurant’s dated 2026 document prices, subject to reconfirmation, and are not a wedding package including hire, drinks and staff.

An undated commercial range of €60–150 per guest for wedding menus is not confirmed by a recent official wedding tariff. The final banquet, drinks reception, wedding cake, children’s meals, brunch, supplier meals, service, cleaning and drinks require a quotation. Consumption-based or fixed drinks packages and bringing your own bottles are mentioned commercially; corkage and included quantities are not officially published.

Business packages and stays: separate prices

The official brochure currently linked online, without a printed validity year, gives study days from €65 per person, semi-residential seminars from €160 and residential seminars from €225. Its note specifies a single-room basis, breaks and meals including drinks; the meeting room and basic equipment are included: flipcharts, paper, pens, screen and projector. Ask for the number of meals, nights and services in each package. Cocktails and receptions are quoted on request. Commercial amounts of €55, €150 and €205 remain visible; they differ from the official brochure and are not the adopted price references. No empty-room hire rate, wedding package, high/low-season schedule or contractual minimum guest number is confirmed.

The Fugue Gourmande offer is advertised at €156 per person in a Caractère double room or €186 in Classique Tradition, based on two occupants for one night: room, house aperitif, six-course gourmet dinner and buffet breakfast. The business Soirée Étape is advertised from €135 including tax: overnight stay, three-course dinner excluding drinks and buffet breakfast. These offers, checked on 12 October 2026, do not give a precise validity period and can only be booked directly by telephone or email. They are not private-hire or wedding rates. According to the legal notice, tourist tax is itemised on the invoice and excluded from booking amounts; its value is not published.

Bedrooms, equipment and arrangements to confirm

The current official website advertises 28 bedrooms across three buildings, compared with 29 rooms and 58 sleeping places in some commercial descriptions. Use 28 rooms; the current bed total, extra beds and accessible-room count are not confirmed. Caractère rooms offer at least 13 square metres, Classique Tradition at least 20 and Tradition Supérieure at least 40; the latter are exclusively in the Magnanerie and include a lounge area and heated trouser press. Categories are advertised for one or two people with a double bed, bath, safe, telephone, flat-screen television, free Wi-Fi, minibar and bathrobes. A desk and fibre internet are advertised for business travellers.

The continental buffet breakfast highlights homemade preserves, village bread, Haut-Doubs ham, eggs, fruit, yoghurt and Comté cheese. The heated outdoor pool is advertised from May to September; the property has a tennis court, park paths, bicycles and mountain bikes to borrow, and bicycle storage. Pool access for event guests, child supervision and exclusive use are not specified. Bedroom and terrace Wi-Fi, flipcharts, screen and projector are confirmed for the corresponding offers. Evening sound systems, lighting, DJ, banquet furniture, tableware, decoration, air conditioning, heating in hired rooms and extra staff require a detailed quote.

Commercial descriptions disagree on accessibility: one states no wheelchair access, another describes adapted facilities; no detailed official confirmation was found. Check the entrance, chosen room, toilets, bedrooms and paths rather than assuming overall access. A commercial listing gives a 4 am finish without current official confirmation: times, noise limits, overtime and availability require agreement. Booking payments, security deposit, cancellation, postponement, children’s charges, pets, parking capacity and reception-contract payment methods are not officially published. Hotel-booking conditions must not automatically be applied to a wedding contract.

How are reviews verified?
  1. An account with a verified email address

The author posts from their wedding account using a confirmed email address. Their email address and contact details are never displayed in the review.

  2. A collaboration confirmed before the event

The client and the professional must have confirmed their collaboration on VENUIVO before the event date. Simply adding a favourite or requesting a quote is not enough.

  3. A review after the event

A review can only be published after the scheduled date for a confirmed collaboration that has not been cancelled. Only one review may be published per collaboration.

  4. The same rules for all reviews

Positive and negative reviews are assessed using the same criteria. Abusive or promotional content and content containing private contact details are rejected. Reviews can be reported, and the professional can respond.

These checks make reviews more reliable. They confirm the collaboration process on VENUIVO; the assessment remains the author’s own.
