Wedding at Château et Domaine de Ripaille
Château de Ripaille, beside Lake Geneva in Thonon-les-Bains, hires the Pavillon Amédée VIII for weddings, private evenings and business events. Its current official offer provides the ground-floor Salle des Ambassadeurs, first-floor lounges and part of the gardens for drinks. Catering by a provider approved by the Foundation is mandatory; guided tours and estate-wine tastings can be added on request. The official car park has 100 spaces. The Foundation manages a historic monument open to visitors: a prior visit and approval of every installation are essential.
Capacities and layout
The contract document dated 1 March 2021 — historical and requiring reconfirmation — gives 120 seated in Salle des Ambassadeurs, 60 in Salon Amédée VIII and 50 in the hall plus vaulted room. It lists a 1,600 m² lawn outside the Ambassadeurs and a general maximum of 500 people, with a marquee possible for some events. These numbers must not be added automatically: the Foundation validates the occupancy plan, exits, furniture, dance floor and visitor areas. In 2021 a symbolic ceremony could be held in the gardens from 5 pm, with an upstairs wet-weather alternative; confirm current availability.
Clearly dated 2021 prices
The only detailed conditions available are dated 1 March 2021 and are not 2026 prices. They advertised hire from 6 pm to 5 am: €1,500 including tax for up to 50 people, €2,700 for 51–100, then €15 for each person above 100. A 25% reduction applied from November to March. Mandatory security: €210; mandatory cleaning: €210; sound system with projector: €250; piano: €250, upstairs with a professional pianist and tuning paid by the client. The booking payment was 50% of the base price, non-refundable, with a €1,500 guarantee due one week beforehand. Replace every amount, time and condition with the current quotation.
Heritage rules and services
The 2021 document bans indoor smoking and fireworks. Outdoor music and garden use ended at 10 pm; amplification had to remain in Salle des Ambassadeurs at a level not audible across the courtyard. DJ, decoration, ceremony and extra furniture required approval; installation could take place the previous day from 2–5 pm subject to availability. The Foundation did not provide the banquet or decoration. No accommodation is advertised on the estate. Accessibility, kitchen, diets, allergies, drinks, corkage, children’s menus and transport require agreement with the approved caterer and Foundation.
