A reception in the historic village of Saint-Didier

Château de Thézan welcomes wedding plans, birthdays, welcome dinners and business events in Saint-Didier, Vaucluse, between Mont Ventoux and the Luberon in Provence, France. The estate combines a historic château, an entrance courtyard, furnished salons and a tree-filled park. Official private hire is arranged on request: agree the spaces, services and availability for your date. Visiting the monument and booking a reception are separate activities with different terms.

The Orangery and layout-specific capacities

The restored Orangery is an identified reception space in professional tourism information. Its room table lists 70 guests for a banquet, 100 for a cocktail reception, 90 in theatre style and 70 in a U-shaped layout, with daylight and Wi-Fi. These capacities describe different arrangements: they cannot be added together and do not guarantee dinner for 70 with a dance floor. Request an approved plan covering tables, circulation, service and a wet-weather alternative. Verified event capacities and floor areas for the other salons and courtyard were not found in the documents consulted.

Park, courtyard and protected interiors

The landscaped park has large trees, paths, fountains and water features. The courtyard and château façades offer other settings for gathering guests. A symbolic ceremony, outdoor drinks reception, marquee or special lighting requires specific agreement; a historic private chapel does not establish permission for a religious or legally recognised civil ceremony. Restoration continues and some areas remain closed. Confirm the accessible areas, protection of historic decoration, permitted installations and any shared use with visitors.

Catering, equipment and drinks

The reviewed pages do not publish a complete catering package, event kitchen specification or contractual policy on approved or independent caterers. Confirm your caterer, delivery access, usable equipment, crockery, tables and chairs. Menus, allergies, dietary requirements, service staff and cleaning should appear in your proposal. Policies on guest-supplied drinks, corkage and wedding cakes are not documented. Wi-Fi is listed for the Orangery; sound equipment, a projector or evening lighting should not be assumed to be included.

Private hire from €5,000

The official website advertises private hire from €5,000 without specifying duration, season, VAT or included services. This is a starting price for discussing your project, not an all-inclusive wedding package or a per-guest rate. Ask for a euro quotation separating spaces, setup, catering, furniture, security, cleaning, taxes and extras. Visitor admission, including the €10 adult ticket, is not reception hire. No current deposit, security bond, payment schedule, minimum guest number or cancellation scale has been confirmed.

Pedestrian access and nearby parking

The château address is 58 Rue du Château, 84210 Saint-Didier. The entrance is in a pedestrian cul-de-sac: agree caterer access, guest drop-off and equipment handling before the event. The owner recommends Parking Centre Château at 222 Chemin le Tour du Pont, approximately 250 metres away on foot. Other free car parks are listed at Place du Vieux Village, Place Neuve, Centre Vieux Village and Notre-Dame des Champs. Spaces are not automatically reserved for your reception. Avignon TGV station is listed as 32 km away; arrange transfers and late-night transport separately.

Accessibility and accommodation to confirm

The official website states that the park and ground-floor rooms are wheelchair accessible while recommending assistance for some difficult sections; historic stairs serve the upper floor. A tourism record retains a more restrictive description of the interiors. Check the actual route to the Orangery, toilets, drop-off and emergency access for your guests. A tourism mention of accommodation on site is not detailed in the official hire offer: no number of wedding bedrooms or bookable beds has been established. Obtain written confirmation before including overnight stays in your budget.

Timings, safety and a useful enquiry

Public opening from April to October, 10 am to 6 pm except Tuesdays, relates to visits and does not establish your party’s finishing time. Contractual arrangements must cover setup, music, closure, dismantling and handover. The estate is described as entirely non-smoking and the park may close in strong winds. Water features require close supervision of children. Pets are excluded from visits except guide and assistance dogs; confirm how this applies to your reception. Contact the château on +33 6 22 88 07 46 or contact@chateaudethezan.com with your date, seated and standing guest numbers, ceremony, dancing, caterer and access needs. Photographs dated 20 September 2026 show actual spaces; they do not establish what is included in a hire agreement.

How are reviews verified?
  1. An account with a verified email address

The author posts from their wedding account using a confirmed email address. Their email address and contact details are never displayed in the review.

  2. A collaboration confirmed before the event

The client and the professional must have confirmed their collaboration on VENUIVO before the event date. Simply adding a favourite or requesting a quote is not enough.

  3. A review after the event

A review can only be published after the scheduled date for a confirmed collaboration that has not been cancelled. Only one review may be published per collaboration.

  4. The same rules for all reviews

Positive and negative reviews are assessed using the same criteria. Abusive or promotional content and content containing private contact details are rejected. Reviews can be reported, and the professional can respond.

These checks make reviews more reliable. They confirm the collaboration process on VENUIVO; the assessment remains the author’s own.
