A wedding in the Saintois countryside

Château de Vandeléville hosts weddings, private receptions and seminars at 3 place du Château in Meurthe-et-Moselle. This 18th-century house stands in two hectares of wooded grounds in the Saintois countryside, near Sion hill. Hire can cover a full weekend or a longer stay, with indoor spaces, a terrace and accommodation. The official website expressly confirms private hire for weddings: the heritage setting is not presented merely as a sightseeing destination. Planning visits are available by appointment every day from 09:00 to 17:00.

Rooms, ceremonies and capacities

The château reception room measures 250 m². The current official presentation advertises up to 200 seated guests with space for dancing. Other commercial presentations list 170 seated and 200 standing, while another lists 170 in both layouts. These numbers are not added together: have your layout, circulation routes and dance-floor space approved. The Les Tilleuls cocktail salon opens onto a shaded terrace; a 100 m² floor area is advertised commercially, without a separate official capacity. The grounds are offered for a non-religious ceremony, drinks reception or photographs. Outdoor attendance of up to 400 is advertised commercially, not as an indoor capacity or guaranteed wet-weather backup. Marquees and structures in the grounds or on the terrace require a quotation under the official terms; an older reference to a 1,000 m² marquee does not mean one is included. No safety plan or simultaneous wet-weather capacity was published on the consulted pages.

Accommodation: distinguish the estate from the village

The official accommodation page details 35 beds in the château’s Madame de Graffiny suites, with additional beds available, 17 in the Pavillon and eight in an independent family suite. That breakdown represents 60 beds on the estate; the village guesthouse adds up to ten, making an advertised combined total of 70, not 70 on site. The website also advertises more than 25 bedrooms, while the package tariff lists ten double bedrooms in the château, seven in the Pavillon and the family suite. The 40 beds priced in the 2027 packages are not the estate’s maximum sleeping capacity. Older figures of 20 bedrooms and 52, 62, 64 or 65 beds remain inconsistent: prioritise the current official breakdown and the room-by-room contract. Confirm extra beds, accessible bedrooms, linen, breakfast, visitor tax, the couple’s room and times, without assuming supplements.

Catering, menus and drinks

The current official page specifies an exclusive selection of partner caterers: unrestricted choice advertised elsewhere is not treated as the current rule. Bespoke fine-dining menus, buffets and substantial cocktail receptions are arranged with those partners. Under the booking terms, kitchens are reserved exclusively for the caterer. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, diabetic and low-salt possibilities, together with traditional, regional, international, fusion and creative cuisine, are advertised commercially; the selected caterer must confirm availability and allergens. Commercial information advertises an outside cake without a surcharge, personal drinks without corkage and wine-pairing advice: confirm these terms, quantities and service, as no priced official drinks package was established. Friday informal meals, including pizza or barbecue, require a quotation; children’s and brunch prices are not published.

Official 2027 packages: private hire and beds

The official tariff checked on 15 October 2026 covers weekends from 16–17 April through 16–17 October 2027 inclusive. PLAISIR, from Saturday 13:00 to Sunday 17:00, lists €8,890 for private hire plus €2,800 for 40 beds, totalling €11,690 including tax. PRENDRE LE TEMPS, from Friday 13:00 to Sunday 17:00, lists €9,990 plus the same €2,800, totalling €12,790 including tax, with Friday accommodation charged additionally at 20% off the schedule labelled ‘accommodation 2026’. That inconsistent year reference must be clarified in the quotation; the Friday supplement cannot be calculated here. Access to bedrooms the previous day is offered for a minimum of 20 people. The grounds, swimming pool, terrace and Les Tilleuls are then available from Friday afternoon; common-area cleaning between Friday and Saturday and a night watchman are advertised. None of these amounts is presented as a per-person price, a meal price or a fixed 2026 tariff.

Inclusions, options and older tariffs

Official prices include 20% VAT, parking assistance, overnight security, cleaning, grounds lighting, technical coordination and furniture: round tables for eight, a top table for up to 14, chairs, food-station tables and standing tables. The scope includes the château salons, Les Tilleuls and its terrace; the pool and reception spaces are also offered on Sunday. Parents remain responsible for children in outdoor play areas. The official terms exclude public-liability insurance, optional heating at €900 per weekend and additional structures quoted separately. For weekends from 23 October 2027 to 8 April 2028, the advertised discount is 15% off private hire, not automatically accommodation or meals. Commercial prices of €8,500–12,500 or €9,590–11,490 do not consistently specify the same year; an explicitly dated 2020–2021 tariff listed €7,890, €8,890 or €9,490 with 52 beds and a 10% winter discount. Those older amounts do not replace the official 2027 tariff.

Booking, advance payment and security deposit

The official terms require two initialled and signed contracts to be returned within eight days, with 30% of the hire price described as arrhes, a French advance-payment category, and an €8,000 security cheque. The cheque is described as not cashed and returned after the event, subject to the contractual provisions for unpaid balances, damage or missing items. The balance and public-liability insurance certificate are required no later than one month before the reception; one month is not equated with 30 days. Joint inspections are required before and after. Invoices are payable on receipt, with a stated late-payment surcharge of 1.5% per 30-day period. Cards, cheques, bank transfers, cash and bank cheques appear in an older commercial presentation; only the methods accepted in your current contract apply. The château states that it is not responsible for property brought and left by clients or suppliers.

Cancellation and practical arrangements

According to the published terms, a client cancellation must be sent by registered post with acknowledgement of receipt. More than 15 days before the event, the château retains the 30% arrhes; from 15 to nine days before, the stated compensation is 75% of the total; from eight to three days, 90%; at 48 hours or less, 100%. The text also provides for termination by the supplier when the event is incompatible with the venue and, for another supplier-initiated reason, payment of twice the arrhes. This is a summary of the published terms, to be checked against the current contract. Music ending at 04:00 and one event per day are advertised commercially. DJ-choice information conflicts: one older presentation requires the venue’s DJ, another allows free choice; confirm the current rule. Sound equipment, screens, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, tableware, meal staff, transport, noise restrictions, flames, confetti, fireworks and pets are not assumed included or permitted without confirmation.

Access, contact and photograph

The car park is private and an electric-vehicle charging point is officially advertised; commercial information lists 50 spaces, to be confirmed for your event. Accessibility is advertised in several presentations, but routes, toilets, bedrooms and access to the grounds must be checked individually. Address: 3 place du Château, 54115 Vandeléville, France. Point 48.426964, 5.995358 is the building location supplied with the geolocated photograph and cross-checked against the mapped estate; the park’s centre farther south is not used as the building point. How are reviews verified?
  1. An account with a verified email address

The author posts from their wedding account using a confirmed email address. Their email address and contact details are never displayed in the review.

  2. A collaboration confirmed before the event

The client and the professional must have confirmed their collaboration on VENUIVO before the event date. Simply adding a favourite or requesting a quote is not enough.

  3. A review after the event

A review can only be published after the scheduled date for a confirmed collaboration that has not been cancelled. Only one review may be published per collaboration.

  4. The same rules for all reviews

Positive and negative reviews are assessed using the same criteria. Abusive or promotional content and content containing private contact details are rejected. Reviews can be reported, and the professional can respond.

These checks make reviews more reliable. They confirm the collaboration process on VENUIVO; the assessment remains the author’s own.
