A setting to celebrate your story
Full presentation
A castle celebration above the lake
Château de Vaumarcus offers wedding venue hire and private use above Lake Neuchâtel, amid the vineyards of La Grande Béroche. It is not limited to ceremonies: the team also handles drinks-reception and banquet plans. Its keep, reception rooms, terrace and gardens accommodate different stages of a celebration, subject to the areas actually booked. This is private property: arrange a visit with the events team instead of arriving unannounced.
Spaces and ceremonies
Le Palais has rooms with decorative mouldings; Le Donjon contains medieval rooms, a stone cellar and historic stairs. Terrace overlooking Lake Neuchâtel, vineyards and the Alps; gardens and grounds with a cedar of Lebanon for outdoor ceremonies and drinks receptions. Three rooms are advertised as approved for civil weddings. Official floor areas and room-by-room seated/standing capacities are unpublished; request a detailed layout and corresponding wet-weather backup.
Private hire is available to clients organising their own event. The estate remains a year-round private residence with offices and apartments: define the hired areas, shared use, simultaneous events and room access in writing. Visits take place only in connection with an event. Three rooms are advertised as approved for civil ceremonies; arrange the date first with the competent civil registry, then book the castle spaces.
Capacities: choosing the right layout
The official page advertises weddings and private celebrations for 50–120 guests, seminars up to 90, and team building or corporate evenings up to 120. This is neither a universal contractual minimum nor each room’s seated capacity. An older commercial figure of 200 standing guests is not adopted as current wedding capacity.
Catering and drinks
Cross-checked event information advertises outside caterers as permitted. The official website allows private hire for clients organising their own event, but publishes neither a contractual caterer list nor a priced wedding menu. Obtain written terms for supplier approval, kitchen, staffing, tableware, children, diets and allergens, outside cake, cleaning and charges. The castle café does not mean a restaurant or catering is included in reception hire.
Commercial event information allows alcohol. The official pages do not specify client-supplied drinks, corkage, required wines, service or glassware. Agree these with the venue and caterer. The bottle included in the romantic stay belongs only to that room package, not to wedding guests.
A guest room for two
One guest room for two, with four-poster bed, private bathroom, period furniture, minibar, coffee machine and free parking. Checked on 15 October 2026: CHF 350 per night for two with in-room breakfast; optional fireplace fire CHF 50. Romantic package CHF 400 for two: standard overnight inclusions, welcome gift, 75 cl bottle of Bouvier Frères Blanc Brut and late checkout at 2pm. CHF 350 or CHF 400 gift vouchers valid for one year. None of these rates includes a wedding reception.
Separate prices for each service
Wedding hire is by personalised quotation only; no firm reception rate, hire unit, season or tax is published. Separate venue hire, meals, drinks, staff, equipment, decoration, room, cleaning and overtime. Separately, conference rooms: Delphinium for 12 and Les Seigneurs for 8, each CHF 90 per half-day or CHF 140 per day; Hellébore for 8, CHF 70 per half-day or CHF 110 per day. Projection screen and whiteboard are advertised with a supplement. These business rates are not wedding packages.
Meetings and equipment
The business centre advertises secure Wi-Fi in conference rooms, free parking and a break room with coffee, fridge and microwave. Delphinium, Les Seigneurs and Hellébore have separate meeting capacities: do not add them to manufacture a banquet capacity. Le Manège, 217 m², is offered as a monthly office rental, not as an available wedding hall.
Planning and quotations
Weddings with ceremony and reception, drinks receptions, banquets, birthdays, jubilees, family celebrations, seminars, conferences, team building and corporate evenings are offered. Le Palais, Le Donjon, the terrace and gardens form a historic setting above the lake. Quotations depend on date, programme, guests, schedule and budget; no priced all-inclusive wedding offer is published.
Send possible dates, estimated guests, programme, times, budget and special requirements to the business contact. Confirm rooms, furniture, heating, air conditioning, sound/lighting, dance floor, wet-weather backup, accessibility, parking and restrictions before signing. Residential apartments and offices rented monthly are neither accommodation reserved for guests nor available reception space.
Schedule
Agree setup, reception, music cutoff, dismantling times and any overtime charges in the quotation. Telephone cover is advertised seven days a week; site visits are by appointment. Le Café du Château opens Tuesday and Thursday from 8.30am to 11.30am: these are not reception hours. The 2pm late checkout belongs to the romantic package; ask about other arrival/departure times.
