In Faimes, Les Waleffes, Château de Waleffe hires spaces for weddings and receptions on a family heritage estate. Two settings are presented: the Château’s lounges and the older character of the Vieux Château. Gardens, terrace and indoor spaces allow a tailored celebration with team support and on-site accommodation options. Wedding hire is distinct from monument tours and public events.

Spaces, capacities and layouts

Two distinct settings: the Château and Vieux Château, with historic lounges, gardens, terrace and indoor backup possibilities. The website advertises up to 200 guests at the Château and 80 at the Vieux Château without specifying the layout. Detailed Tour planning figures: 130 seated at rectangular tables, 100 at round tables, 250 for cocktails and 300 dancing; the 130/250 filters refer to that room, not a sum. Older higher capacities and floor areas are not guaranteed. Validate the authorised capacity and plan for your layout. For the Tour, detailed information also distinguishes 200 conference/theatre or meeting guests, 60 U-shape and 80 classroom. For Château lounges: 60 at rectangular tables, 80 at round tables, 150 for cocktails, 60 conference/theatre or boardroom, 30 U-shape and 40 classroom. Figures are not additive and do not guarantee the same number with a dance floor, furniture, catering and wet-weather backup. Older names Jean Curtius, Dame Alagon, Sieur Flaveau and Jubé do not allow every floor area and former capacity to be reliably matched to today’s hired spaces: request a current named plan. The grounds provide a landscaped setting; the accommodation offer mentions 20 hectares without guaranteeing exclusive use of the whole area.

Ceremony, backup and private hire

Private hire is offered for weddings, family celebrations and corporate events. Private gardens and exclusive use are advertised in some presentations; exact boundaries, accommodation and any parallel activities must be specified in the contract. Symbolic ceremonies in the gardens or lounges and indoor backup are offered; religious or legally binding civil ceremonies require their own arrangements and approvals. Event public-liability insurance is required; under the venue’s terms the client is responsible for guest damage.

Bedrooms and gîtes: separate offers

The Château offers 5 double bedrooms, with a third bed possible depending on the room, private bathrooms, continental breakfast and a 2-night minimum; dinner on request. The Vieux Quartier has 5 double bedrooms for 10 people, 4 bathrooms, an equipped kitchen, private barbecue courtyard and a 1-week minimum. The Pavillon Chinois accommodates a couple with shower/WC, kitchenette, water, electricity, heating and Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi is also advertised in the other accommodation. Rates and availability on request; do not add capacities or assume all units are included or simultaneously bookable.

Catering and drinks

The estate helps with reception-supplier choices. Some hire information allows outside caterers, while other information specifies compulsory catering: obtain written confirmation for your selected space and package. A kitchen, food-truck area and cloakroom are listed; check the exact equipment. Menus, staff, tableware, children’s meals, brunch, diets and allergen management are not publicly priced or guaranteed. Accommodation with breakfast is not a wedding-catering package. Bringing drinks, corkage, bar arrangements, service and glassware are not confirmed for your package. An outdoor bar mentioned in a Vieux Château offer does not imply that drinks or staff are included. Request an itemised quotation.

Prices: hire, extras and pre-reservation

Reception hire is quoted individually. Commercial figures consulted on 15 October 2026, without a confirmed rate year, duration or tax basis: Vieux Château €2,500 with tack room, private garden, 50 m² tent and outdoor bar; Château drinks reception €4,400 with entrance hall, Salon chinois and a honeymoon room free for 1 night; Château meeting/meal/cocktail event €3,500; meetings from €500. These separate offers are not per-person menus and are not additive. Listed options: an 8-person gîte €750 (duration unspecified); Château bedroom €155 including breakfast (time unit unspecified). Do not automatically identify that gîte with today’s 10-person Vieux Quartier offer. Energy and cleaning are listed as included in some hires: state this explicitly in the quotation. Official contractual prices are in euros including taxes under the general terms; this does not retroactively establish VAT or duration for the older figures. A discovery visit is advertised at €20, refundable under the offered conditions; the advertised €100 pre-reservation is distinct from the wedding price and must be reconciled with the contractual 30% advance. No minimum wedding-guest number is confirmed. Room capacities are not minimum billing numbers. Stays have separate minimums: 2 nights for Château rooms and 1 week for the Vieux Quartier. No Pavillon Chinois minimum is specified.

Payment, cancellation and insurance

General terms dated 22 April 2026, consulted on 15 October: a signed contract/quotation and advance are required; 30% advance on signing or validation of an online pre-reservation; balance no later than 30 days beforehand. Written cancellation by email or registered post: more than 90 days, the 30% advance is retained; 90–60 days, 50%; 60–30 days, 75%; less than 30 days, 100%. Confirm exact boundaries and calculation basis in the contract. Venue cancellation other than force majeure: full refund of amounts paid. Late payment: Belgian statutory interest plus 10% compensation, minimum €50. Special terms may supplement or override general terms; damage-deposit and postponement arrangements are unspecified. Hire payment methods are not detailed; obtain them directly from the estate. A visit or pre-reservation payment is not made as part of requesting a reception quotation.

Agreeing event times

The website’s wedding timeline is a customisable example: preparations around 10am, ceremony around 3pm, cocktails around 5pm, dinner around 8pm and dancing around 11pm. These are not contractual hours. Although one presentation describes an evening without a time restriction, the general terms require agreed hours and noise rules to be observed. Agree setup, music finish, dismantling and key handover in the contract. Contact availability is advertised Monday–Sunday except Wednesday; these are not hire hours.

Equipment and other events

Alongside weddings, the estate offers birthdays, communions, family receptions, seminars, meetings, private dinners and corporate events. Lounges, gardens and terrace support different formats. Tables, chairs, Wi-Fi, projector, screen and flipchart are listed for some hires; request the included inventory and technical options. A guided tour can be arranged by appointment; this is not a substitute for reception-space hire. Prices, setup, catering, equipment, decoration and staffing are agreed per event. Admission to a public festival, workshop or tour is not presented as a private-hire rate. Check room heating/air conditioning, electrical capacity, safety plans, cleaning scope and outdoor-music conditions. Arrange a visit and obtain a precise contract before committing.
