A setting to celebrate your story
Full presentation
A wedding at Château Val Joanis in the Luberon
Château Val Joanis offers wedding receptions in Pertuis, at 2404 Route de Villelaure. Its official offer presents a 400-hectare estate combining vineyards, pine woodland and olive groves. The venue highlights its Remarkable Garden, main courtyard, courtyard of two-century-old plane trees and indoor spaces for a personalised reception. Weddings are explicitly offered; availability, areas reserved for private use and services must be agreed in a quotation tailored to the project.
Gardens, courtyards and a Provençal setting
Created in 1978 and awarded the Remarkable Garden label in 2005, the garden follows principles of eighteenth-century French formal gardens. Three terraces bring together a kitchen garden, flowers and ornamental planting, with cypresses, roses, rare plants and fruit trees. The château overlooks this ensemble, which opens onto the vineyards. It offers several settings for photographs, drinks and a symbolic ceremony, subject to the area actually booked and the estate’s written conditions.
The venue’s tourism documentation describes a 1,000 m² main courtyard and a 700 m² plane-tree courtyard. These areas do not establish a statutory capacity. An outdoor dinner plan must address furniture, lighting, power, circulation, toilets, plant protection, supervision of children and indoor backup for rain or wind.
Rooms and capacities: agree the reception layout
The Salle des Barriques, also described as the reception room, is presented as a 200 m² space with views of the cellars, a fireplace and access to the courtyard. A wedding layout for 160 seated adults and 200 people for drinks is advertised. The Salle des Vendanges is described as a second indoor area that can support wet-weather backup or arrangements for children.
The reviewed documents give different capacities: the Vendanges room is variously listed as 170 or 180 m², and several seated, theatre and drinks-reception capacities are advertised for different uses. They are therefore neither added together nor treated as a guaranteed overall capacity. Request a dated plan, the table count, the dance-floor area retained, each room’s permitted capacity and circulation rules between indoor and outdoor spaces.
Packages, furniture and catering
Two- or three-day hire options are advertised, with reception furniture including round tables, chairs, festoon lights and a head table. Confirm the package contents, quantities, setup and reinstatement. A caterers’ preparation area, projection equipment and sound facilities are also described; their availability and charges must appear in the quotation.
Published information about the choice of caterer does not fully agree. Venue hire without catering is advertised, but obtain the current policy on permitted suppliers and preparation-area use. Children’s meals, dietary requirements, allergens, staff, tableware, cake, brunch and drinks must be agreed with the chosen suppliers. The estate produces its own wines; no purchase obligation, inclusion or waiver of corkage is assumed.
Accommodation, music and booking terms
Some wedding offers describe accommodation on the estate, while other documents refer to a villa or nearby options. Confirm the number of beds currently bookable, included rooms, extra nights and arrival times directly. No bed is presented here as included in the venue hire.
A 4 a.m. event finish is published in a wedding offer; the limit applicable to your date, outdoor music and breakdown must nevertheless be written into the contract. No current detailed hire price has been established: request an itemised quotation covering spaces, duration, furniture, technical services, catering, drinks, accommodation, cleaning, security, taxes and extras. Deposit, security deposit, payment schedule, cancellation, postponement and insurance must be clarified before booking.
Access, contacts and a site visit
The estate lies in the Luberon, north of Aix-en-Provence. Private parking and coach access are described; confirm actual parking capacity, supplier parking, shuttles and step-free routes for the chosen layout. A technical site visit can establish backup arrangements, accessible toilets and delivery access.

The shop and garden hours currently shown, Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. between 1 October and 24 December, are visiting hours and do not establish wedding-hire times.
