Aix-en-Provence’s Cité du Livre occupies the former match factory and brings together Bibliothèque Méjanes and several cultural spaces. The Verrière Amphitheatre is advertised with 300 seats. The complex also includes a 160-seat conference and cinema room, a 40-seat auditorium, an exhibition hall and an internal courtyard. These capacities belong to separate spaces and must not be added without management approval.

Spaces and event formats

The amphitheatre is suitable for conferences, meetings, screenings and talks, subject to the programme and technical conditions. Other rooms provide different audience scales, but each has its own layout. Stage, control rooms, projection, sound, lighting, dressing areas, furniture and visitor arrangements must be checked for the planned production.

Organisation and conditions

Cité du Livre remains an operating public cultural facility. An event request should state its purpose, audience, any ticketing, security, technical requirements, timing, communications, catering and shared use with the library and resident partners. Availability is not presumed and no private use is promised without written approval.

Access and preparation

The entrance is at 8–10 rue des Allumettes, 13100 Aix-en-Provence, near the coach station and city centre. Audience, stage and restroom accessibility, as well as deliveries and technical parking, must be confirmed for each production.

Rates and booking
