A wedding on the Garonne in Bordeaux

Croisières Burdigala offers private boat hire for weddings, birthdays and corporate events. The reception pontoon is on the right bank, opposite 7 quai de Queyries in Bordeaux. Whether moored or cruising, the reception enjoys views of the Port de la Lune waterfront and river scenery. The private-event boarding point differs from the departure point for some sightseeing trips and should be confirmed with the team.

Three boats and several layouts

Burdigala I is a traditional barge, formerly used to carry grain, advertised for up to 74 passengers. It combines an indoor space with a covered outdoor area. Aquitania is a single-level panoramic boat with a sound system and covered outdoor space; its advertised transport capacity is 150 passengers. Burdigala II offers an air-conditioned panoramic interior, a large outdoor terrace, sound equipment and lighting. The website advertises up to 300 people depending on the use.

These passenger limits are not seated dining capacities. Published reception-dinner layouts provide approximately 50 seats on Burdigala I or Aquitania and up to 126 on Burdigala II. Tables, dancing, buffets and guest numbers must be approved for the selected boat.

A quayside reception or private cruise

A moored event makes use of the pontoon and Bordeaux panorama. For a cruise, routes are planned with the crew around Bordeaux, its bridges and, depending on the duration, the Gironde estuary. Pick-up points may be adapted. Tables, chairs, standing tables and sound equipment are offered; quantities and inclusions are specified in the quotation. A guide can be added as an option. Catering, drinks, decoration and entertainment are arranged separately with the organiser.

Indicative private-hire prices

As a guide, four-hour daytime quayside hire is advertised from €1,040 for Burdigala I, €1,050 for Aquitania and €2,560 for Burdigala II. For four evening hours moored at the quay, the respective references are €1,420, €1,550 and €3,160. Cruising, longer durations and catering have separate prices and conditions. These amounts, consulted in October 2026, must be reconfirmed for the wedding date, including taxes and all inclusions; they are not sightseeing tickets or meal-inclusive packages.
