A reception at Domaine de Chaalis

In Fontaine-Chaalis, in the Oise department, Domaine de Chaalis brings together the remains of a 12th-century abbey, a chapel, a château museum and gardens. The Orangerie hosts weddings and family receptions in this historic setting, close to the Ermenonville forest.

The Orangerie and its adjoining gardens

The venue offers a single, undivided 260 m² hall, lit by large south-facing windows overlooking the park. Its high ceiling and connection to the green spaces allow a dinner or reception to be arranged with clear circulation routes. Advertised capacities reach 250 seated guests or 400 standing for a cocktail reception or evening event, depending on the layout.

An entrance hall, kitchen, cloakroom, room for resting and toilets complement the main hall. Receptions can extend into the park, near the ruins or the château, into the formal French garden and its canals, or into the rose garden. The areas used are agreed with the private events team.

Planning an event at an active heritage site

Parking is available in front of the estate. The team sets the hire terms and quotation according to the spaces and the event. The château museum is currently undergoing restoration: access and any implications of the works need to be clarified during planning. This situation should be distinguished from the Orangerie’s reception offering, which the estate presents separately. A site visit helps confirm the guest route and the services required.
