A setting to celebrate your story
Full presentation
Frac Sud – Cité de l’art contemporain welcomes professional gatherings in Marseille’s Joliette district, at 20 boulevard de Dunkerque. Designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma and opened in 2013, the building places contemporary creativity at the heart of an urban cultural setting near Euroméditerranée. Its distinctive façade is part of the identity of this Marseille arts venue.
A private exhibition tour can accompany a gathering with colleagues and continue with a cocktail reception on the terrace. Frac Sud has presented this format in its own professional communications. It combines an introduction to contemporary art with time for conversation, allowing companies to discuss a proposal suited to their event. Organisers can contact the private events team with their preferred date, guest numbers and outline programme. The permitted attendance and included services depend on the spaces and format agreed with the venue.
The centre also presents temporary exhibitions, talks and conferences, alongside educational and training activities. Its collection includes more than 1,500 works representing over 700 artists. In 2026, L’Écologie des relations : La Forêt amante de la mer brings together Japanese artists from several generations to explore relationships between artistic creation, the environment and living surroundings. These cultural activities provide the context for a visit integrated into a corporate gathering.
Ivresse, the café and restaurant within the site, adds another element to the venue’s daily life. Exhibition rooms are accessible to wheelchair users, and the mediation team offers visits adapted to different visitor needs. Group visits are among the services advertised by the institution.
For a reception or professional event, request a quotation covering the chosen spaces, timings, guided visit and cocktail arrangements. Public exhibition admission in 2026 is €5 at the standard rate and €2.50 at the reduced rate. Those tickets concern public visits; private event arrangements and prices are agreed separately with the team.
