In the canton of Bern, Grandhotel Giessbach hosts weddings, birthdays, family gatherings and business events in a historic hotel surrounded by nature. Its salons, terraces and bedrooms bring a celebration meal and an overnight stay together, with views of Lake Brienz or the Giessbach waterfalls.
Historic salons and receptions
The Salon Belle Époque, a former 241 m² ballroom, accommodates 120 to 150 banquet guests depending on the layout. Stucco, mirrors and chandeliers complement a private terrace facing the waterfalls. For cocktails, the Salon Davinet accommodates up to 90 people and has a lakeside terrace; the Salon Giron suits 30 people. These capacities apply to individual spaces and are not minimum booking numbers.
Planning and access
The hotel’s kitchen prepares reception menus featuring regional and seasonal dishes. The events team provides a quotation based on your chosen salons, services and bedrooms. Parking is paid. Arrival by boat followed by the funicular depends on operating schedules; the funicular is not wheelchair accessible. Coach arrivals require prior permission.

Pricing details
- Amounts and conditions of other additional charges
- Quotation in CHF according to spaces, catering and bedrooms. For example, the four-course Giessbach dinner costs 79 CHF per person in the 2026 offer; this is not the total wedding price. Applicable VAT included, tourist tax separate. A minimum spend may be agreed. Technical equipment, extra cleaning, security and extensions may be charged. Outside food and drink require written agreement and service charges apply.
Booking and payment

- Booking follows written acceptance of the offer and reconfirmation by the hotel; a deposit may be requested, particularly above 5000 CHF. Foreign billing address: card guarantee and 50% payable no later than 7 days before arrival. Payment at the end of the event, or invoice payable within 10 days by written agreement. Cancellations must be in writing; deadlines and charges depend on party size and room bookings. Expected attendance is due 14 days before, final numbers 3 days before; adjustments and billing follow the agreed terms.
