Receptions and cultural events overlooking the Seine

The Institut du monde arabe offers its equipped spaces to companies and private clients for conferences, standing receptions, filming, performances, dinners, weddings, fashion shows and private visits. Jean Nouvel’s building is at 1 rue des Fossés-Saint-Bernard, place Mohammed V, in Paris’s 5th arrondissement. Private hire may be combined with a visit to an exhibition or the collections, subject to availability and coordination with the cultural programme.

Auditorium

The Auditorium has sound, lighting and projection equipment. It hosts conferences, seminars, symposiums, conventions, DCP film screenings and performances. The room has 364 seats and 56 tip-up seats, making 420 places in total, plus a 105 m² stage. Listed facilities include a sound and recording control room, two booths for interpretation or production, a digital projector, two screens, 140 conventional stage lights, a goods lift, air conditioning, four dressing rooms, a small kitchen, make-up mirrors and showers.

Salle Hypostyle and Salle du Haut Conseil

On the same level as the Auditorium, Salle Hypostyle provides 900 m² with 120 columns for exhibitions, fashion shows, promotional meetings or standing receptions. Its rate is coupled with the Auditorium, and the occupied area is defined during a site visit, particularly for catering and technical suppliers. On the top floor, Salle du Haut Conseil provides 260 m² plus an adjoining 40 m² smoking room. It is suitable for seminars, gala dinners, receptions, standing receptions, weddings, showrooms, fashion shows and filming. Facilities include 200 chairs and two service areas, one with a water point.

Panoramic terrace

The fitted 9th-floor terrace covers 300 m² and overlooks Notre-Dame. Subject to weather conditions, it can host a standing reception, seated dinner, filming, photo shoot or product launch. It may be hired only in addition to Salle du Haut Conseil or the restaurant on the same floor and must not be presented as a standalone hire without confirmation.

Rates and conditions

Rates are not published on the current pages consulted, and older amounts have not been reused. A quotation must specify the spaces, duration, capacities, furniture, technical services, staffing, catering, drinks, security, deliveries and wet-weather alternative. Booking payment, security deposit, taxes, insurance, cancellation and postponement must be confirmed in the contract.
