Corporate receptions in a historic townhouse

At 19 Rue Grignan in central Marseille, Musée Cantini offers spaces for corporate and institutional receptions. The townhouse, built in 1694, combines historic architecture with modern and contemporary art collections. Municipal venue hire provides options for breakfast gatherings, after-work drinks or an evening event, with an optional museum visit. Municipal conditions exclude weddings, birthdays and religious events.

Two reception rooms and courtyards

The advertised spaces comprise the entrance courtyard, two ground-floor rooms covering 80 square metres and an inner courtyard of 100 square metres. They allow organisers to consider an indoor welcome alongside an outdoor reception. Guest numbers and layouts must be agreed with the museum; floor areas are not guaranteed capacities. The official tourist listing identifies air conditioning and Wi-Fi among the facilities.

Three time slots and reference prices

The municipal schedule effective from 19 February 2024 lists breakfast hire from 8 to 9 a.m. and after-work/cocktail hire from 7 to 9 p.m., each at €3,000 including tax. The evening option, from 7 to 11 p.m., is listed at €7,500 including tax. These slots take place before or after normal public opening. The amounts are reference prices from that schedule and must be confirmed for the proposed date and event.

Organisation and additional services

Catering, decoration, entertainment and cleaning are paid for by the organiser, who retains the choice of suppliers. Utility, security and gallery-supervision charges are additional and depend on attendance; the published schedule starts at €1,500 for up to 100 people. A guided visit can accompany the reception at an additional charge. An occupancy agreement sets out the obligations of the City and the organiser after the application has been accepted.

Culture, access and planning

Jules Cantini acquired the building in 1888 and left it to Marseille in 1916. The collections include Fauvism, early Cubism and Surrealism. Since May 2026, a renewed collection display has explored connections with Marseille’s port history and artistic exchanges across the Mediterranean. Any visit programme depends on the works on display at the time of the event.

The M1 metro serves Estrangin-Préfecture station, and several public car parks are nearby. An adapted entrance is identified to the left of the main entrance. The tourist listing also mentions a lift fault, so access to the booked spaces should be checked directly. Enquiries can be made on +33 4 13 94 83 30 or at musee-cantini@marseille.fr.

How are reviews verified?
  1. An account with a verified email address

The author posts from their wedding account using a confirmed email address. Their email address and contact details are never displayed in the review.

  2. A collaboration confirmed before the event

The client and the professional must have confirmed their collaboration on VENUIVO before the event date. Simply adding a favourite or requesting a quote is not enough.

  3. A review after the event

A review can only be published after the scheduled date for a confirmed collaboration that has not been cancelled. Only one review may be published per collaboration.

  4. The same rules for all reviews

Positive and negative reviews are assessed using the same criteria. Abusive or promotional content and content containing private contact details are rejected. Reviews can be reported, and the professional can respond.

These checks make reviews more reliable. They confirm the collaboration process on VENUIVO; the assessment remains the author’s own.
