A setting to celebrate your story
Full presentation
An event in the ancient town of Glanum
In Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Glanum archaeological site provides an open-air setting for private receptions, cocktails and business gatherings. At the foot of the Alpilles, the remains of a Gallic town shaped by Greek and Roman influences combine stone architecture and landscape. The private-hire offering also covers family celebrations, conferences, workshops, concerts and performances.
An outdoor estate for different event formats
The three-hectare estate can accommodate up to 600 standing guests according to its official hire schedule. Bookings are offered throughout the year, with layout, circulation and guest numbers agreed with the monument’s team. The arrangement of the ruins and the outdoor setting shape each event’s configuration.
The town developed around a permanent spring and later acquired houses, a forum, baths and temples. Systematic archaeological excavations began in 1921, bringing this heritage back into view. A guided visit can introduce the spaces before a reception planned with the venue hire team.
Private tours and group hospitality
Two-hour private tours are arranged in French or English in the morning or evening outside public opening hours. They can be complemented by a breakfast buffet or an aperitif with champagne and petits fours. This format allows groups to combine a cultural experience with time to socialize.
Private-tour pricing starts at €360 including VAT per group of 1–30 people, with a guide listed separately at €78.20 including VAT. Food and drinks depend on the chosen format and are covered by a specific proposal.
Venue hire and planning
The hire schedule currently available lists the entire site from €2,880 including VAT for eight daytime hours, or €3,600 including VAT for the 6 pm–1 am slot. Preparation and dismantling are included within the reserved period, and two security staff are included. These are published starting prices that require an updated quotation for the particular event.
Planning is handled by the Centre des monuments nationaux venue hire and filming service. The date, group size, installations and suppliers’ requirements are defined as part of the project and its arrangements.
Access and site conditions
The entrance is on Avenue Vincent Van Gogh. The municipal Antiques car park, for cars and coaches, is approximately 100 metres away. The reception building and toilets are accessible to guests with reduced mobility, but the archaeological route has uneven surfaces and a steep approach. Individual access needs should be discussed with the team.
The site offers limited shade in summer and can be exposed to cold and the mistral in winter. Weather conditions therefore form part of the choice of season and event time. Guide and assistance dogs are welcome; other animals are not permitted.
