A wedding at a wine château in Gironde
In Portets, south of Bordeaux, Château de l’Hospital hosts weddings on an estate surrounded by a four-hectare enclosed park. Full private use from Friday until Monday morning lets guests enjoy the ceremony, cocktail, dinner, evening party and accommodation at one venue. The property combines the château, a contemporary orangery and outdoor areas suited to the different stages of the celebration.
An orangery for 120 seated guests
The Orangery can accommodate up to 120 people seated. It provides a bright setting for dinner and the evening party, with a dance floor advertised until 4 a.m. The park can host outdoor ceremonies and cocktails; a meal under a marquee may also be possible depending on the plans and authorisations. Ask for a precise layout for your guest count and for the fallback arrangements in case of rain or extreme heat.
The furniture announced by the estate includes 120 wooden chairs, round and rectangular tables and outdoor furniture. Couples are free to choose their suppliers. Final cleaning is stated as included. Step-free access and an accessible bedroom have been available since 2025; confirm the accessible route to each area that will be used.
Accommodation for up to 49 people
The estate advertises accommodation for up to 49 people across the château, an apartment and a dormitory. This capacity makes it easier to welcome relatives and friends for a full weekend, but the room allocation, check-in and check-out times, bed linen, breakfasts and any additional charges should be specified in the quotation. Terms, deposit and quotation
Wedding rates are provided by quotation. The estate states that a 30% deposit is due upon booking and the balance one month before the event. Before committing, ask for a detailed list of the included spaces and nights, furniture, any marquee, catering and drinks, technical equipment, security, cleaning, taxes, insurance, noise rules and cancellation terms. The most recent contractual information always takes precedence over general guidance.
